World Bedwetting DayWhat is World Bedwetting Day?

Taking place this year on Tuesday 30 May 2017, World Bedwetting Day raises awareness that bedwetting is a common medical condition that can and should be treated. The day’s slogan is ‘Time to Take Action’ in recognition that much more can be done to diagnose and treat children who wet the bed.

Bedwetting can have a serious impact on a child's happiness and well being. It's not something they will necessarily grow out of so we want to encourage all parents and carers of children who are wet at night to get help from a health professional. ERIC's guide to night time wetting is a free downloadable resource which has lots of information about treating and managing bedwetting.

This year marks the third consecutive year that World Bedwetting Day has been marked globally and is an initiative led by the International Children’s Continence Society (ICCS) and the European Society of Paediatric Urology (ESPU) and supported by Ferring PharmaceuticalsERIC and Bladder and Bowel UK (formerly PromoCon) have assisted in promoting World Bedwetting Day in the UK since 2015. ERIC gets involved by helping design and distribute action packs for health and education professionals which include flyers, posters and stickers and by raising awareness of the day on social media.

There are lots of ways you can be involved:
