ERIC, The Children’s Bowel and Bladder Charity has announced that its Paediatric Continence Care Conference taking place on Wednesday 12th October 2016 in Birmingham has been approved by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) for up to a maximum of five Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits.

  • 5 CPD credits can be obtained if delegates attend an optional ‘Breakfast Symposium’ session which will run from 8.30am to 9.15am in addition to the general programme or
  • 4 CPD credits can be obtained if delegates attend only the general programme from 10.00am to 16.30pm and not the ‘Breakfast Symposium’.

In addition to taking advantage of networking opportunities and a broad selection of exhibitors, delegates will hear from expert speakers working in the field of child and adolescent continence.

Topics covered will include how to develop an integrated faecal incontinence service, risk outcomes associated with incontinence, current pressures facing community services, early intervention for bladder and bowel problems, toilet training children with learning difficulties, using play when toileting, and biofeedback training and neuromodulation.

There will also be a demonstration on how to use ERIC’s soon-to-be-launched children’s continence pathway.

Submit a poster for presentation

Professionals who have recently completed relevant research or projects who would like to get their work in front of a large multi-disciplinary audience are invited to submit posters for presentation at the conference. The best three posters will also be presented orally and the overall winner will receive a prize. Guidelines for writing and submitting abstracts can be found on the conference website. The deadline for submitting an abstract is 1st August 2016.

Nominate someone for the ERIC Award

Delegates and non-delegates are invited to nominate a health professional who has shown excellence in child and adolescent continence care for ERIC’s Award for Childhood Continence Care. The award, which is sponsored by Coloplast, includes a £500 cheque, free entry to the conference and gala dinner plus travel expenses. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the conference website and should be returned by 15thSeptember.
