Leathersellers

We are thrilled to announce that the Leathersellers’ Company Charitable Fund will be supporting our helpline and information service with a grant worth £20,000 over the next four years. This generous grant will contribute towards the costs of delivering information & support to families across the UK whose children struggle with a bowel or bladder condition.

Our telephone and email helpline supports over 2,500 families each year and many more thousands of families and health professionals use the resources and information on our website to help them manage and resolve their child’s condition.

Thanks to the generosity of the Trustees of the Leathersellers’ Company Charitable Fund, we are able to continue to support families that come to us for help.

Juliette Randall, ERIC's CEO, recently attended a reception in London hosted by the Leathesellers’ Company to formally welcome all the charities they are supporting over the next four years. Juliette said: “Thanks to the generosity of the Trustees of the Leathersellers’ Company Charitable Fund, we are able to continue to support families that come to us for help. Families that come to ERIC often speak of the isolation they feel in caring for a child with a continence condition and come to us for the support they cannot find elsewhere”.

We hear many stories from the families who have come to us:

“Incontinence is exhausting and it is daily. Our lively 5-year-old doesn’t look out of place amongst her peers, but what you can’t see is what she has to cope with on a daily basis. About a year into Onnee’s treatment for chronic constipation, I found the ERIC helpline. I spoke to a wonderfully understanding lady called Natalie. I blurted out my daughter’s story and cried. I hadn’t realised how lonely and isolated I was and felt utter relief wash over me! Not only are the helpline staff trained in understanding continence problems, they understood all the emotions and situations I was describing. At ERIC I can talk to someone who not only listens but listens with complete understanding. ERIC has been a sanity lifeline.” (Parent who contacted the ERIC Helpline).
