Student fundraising recipients

A group of students at Bishop of Llandaff High School in Cardiff are organising a fundraising marathon for three charities working with young people who have a hidden difficulty. ERIC is delighted to have been chosen as one of these charities.

What is happening?

Over 18 and 19 July, the students will host a continuous live broadcast on their school radio station for 36 hours to raise not only money but also awareness of the challenges that children and teenagers face throughout their daily lives. The students will also run various events over this two day period, including an attempt at getting everyone in years 7, 8 and 9 to do an individually sponsored event, involving around 600 students!

ERIC's Chief Executive, Juliette Randall says "ERIC is passionate about giving a voice to children suffering with bowel and bladder problems. Having an entire school bringing attention to these widely misunderstood conditions will go a long way to tackle the stigma surrounding them. This an excellent opportunity for us and I am very grateful to everyone at Bishop of Llandaff High School in Cardiff who made this event possible."

Who else will benefit?

The other organisations who will benefit from this event are Stonewall Cymru who work to eradicate homophobia, biphobia and transphobia and Mind Cymru who raise awareness about mental health issues and support sufferers of mental health disorders.
