Stories & News Latest news ERIC skydive is a soaring success Over the weekend of May 6 and 7 something extraordinary happened in the twenty seven year history of ERIC: the first ever fundraising skydive. Thanks to the generosity of all those who donated, two teams of five, bravely jumped out of planes at 15,000ft raising over £6,000 and counting between them. Juliette at 15,000ft! The first group of tandem skydivers took to the skies over Salisbury on the Saturday. Juliette Randall, ERIC’s CEO, describes the experience: "It was 50/50 the day before as to whether our skydive would go ahead due to strong winds and cloud cover and we were given the option to re-arrange. But after so much planning and with adrenalin running high we decided to gamble and go! I’m so glad we did as it was a fantastic day which we shared with so many friends and family present to support us. Free falling at 125 mph was incredible and the overall experience totally amazing – although I was very relieved when my feet were firmly back on the ground!" With her jump kindly sponsored by Relyon Cleaning Services, Juliette was joined by Anna Henry, a fundraiser for ERIC, Chris Lewis, volunteer, Karen Shearon, from Hunter Urology and Alice Cheer whose mum Brenda is the ERIC nurse. Juliette's skydive was sponsored by Relyon Cleaning Services The day after in Exeter it was Team Henry’s turn. This group of skydivers was organised by Lydia and Mark Wade whose son Henry, 8, has been suffering with ongoing bowel problems. You can still support Lydia and Mark by visiting their JustGiving page. Sadly Amy Attrill who originally suggested the idea of a skydive, had to cancel her jump due to an ankle injury. As soon as her injury has healed, she will book a new date. How can I skydive for ERIC? If you are interested in joining Amy please email [email protected] to find out more or call 0117 301 2103. The first two people who agree to take part in a skydive for ERIC will get £30 off voucher. (Voucher is only valid until 1 May 2018. The skydive will take place in Salisbury with Go Skydive.)
