Childhood continence problems are more common than people realise: 1 in 12 children suffer with one and the emotional impact on their lives can be devastating for them and their families. For many of the children and families who struggle to cope with these distressing conditions, ERIC is the only place they can come to for support, understanding and the information they need. Last year our Helpline supported over 3,000 families and through our web based resources we have supported many thousands more across the UK. Currently we deliver training to 800+ professionals and the online shop turnover is in the region of £250,000. Overall purpose of the role: The Learning and Enterprise Manager will drive ERIC’s ambition to grow our social enterprise activity, re-investing profits from sales of goods and services into supporting children and young people struggling with bladder and bowel conditions. The main functions of the role are to manage, develop and grow: The delivery of our online and face-to-face training programme tailored to health, education and early years professionals. Our retail and wholesale commercial operations, and leading on the development of our new e-commerce platform on Shopify. Our Enterprise and Learning team includes a part-time conference organiser, three part-time training co-ordinators, an apprentice, expert freelance trainers and our online shop sales coordinator. You will be responsible for leading and motivating the team, supporting them as well as working across the wider ERIC team. We are looking for an ambitious and tenacious leader, ready to move ERIC enterprises to the next level. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and be a part of our senior leadership team, contributing to strategic development and the achievement of our goals for children, young people and families. Main Duties and Key Responsibilities: Lead the delivery of ERIC’s existing training programme and the development of new and innovative learning opportunities for the healthcare, early years, education and children’s services sectors. Collaborate with ERIC’s Professional Advisory Committee to plan and deliver our high profile events for healthcare professionals and develop new opportunities for conferences and events. Develop a retail strategy for increasing our online sales presence and growing sales. Supporting the Sales Co-ordinator to develop and grow sales from ERIC‘s on-line shop through new product ranges, marketing and sales. Provide leadership to the Enterprise & Learning Team, to include coaching and development as well as supervision and ensuring core competencies are met. Manage and quality assure ERIC’s learning offer for professionals to measure impact, using feedback and performance against KPI’s, completing service evaluations and identifying ways to continuously improve. Encourage ERIC trainers to engage with peer support and the need for continuous improvement and development of ERIC’s training offer. Work collaboratively with the wider ERIC Team to support the achievement of ERIC’s strategic goals and organisation development. Liaise with our Finance and Support Services Manager to ensure services are carried out within budget requirements. Comply with all organisation’s policies relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, GDPR, employment, health & safety and privacy. Carry out other duties commensurate with the responsibilities of the post. Essential Skills, Knowledge and Attributes: Demonstrate strong leadership skills so that individuals and the team feel empowered, safe and included as well as having the opportunity to develop. Experience of using an ecommerce platform (ideally Shopify) creating content, tracking the customer experience, using data and maximising SEO to effectively drive sales. Passionate about delivering excellent customer service. Working with products such as Zoom, Eventbrite and Salesforce. Ability to lead the development of new services, using excellent planning, strategic thinking, project management and evaluation skills. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement, setting and achieving service targets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including face to face, virtual and via social media. A strong team player, willing to share ideas, work collaboratively with colleagues and build effective relationships. Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work independently using own initiative. Experience of managing a diverse workload, meeting deadlines while working under pressure.
