By working with settings across the Early Years Foundations stage, ERIC aims to help children achieve independence in using the toilet before they start school.

Early intervention to support healthy bladders and bowels

Being toilet trained is a key skill that children need to develop independence, self-esteem and confidence and to thrive at school. Find out more about our early intervention work here.

Early years and education training

We want every family to access information on potty training and good bladder and bowel health by the time their child is two. Early years settings have a crucial role to play with this.

We run award-winning early interventions training for professionals working with pre-school aged children. Our half day courses look at the problems that can arise during toilet training and explain how to manage or overcome common childhood continence problems such as constipation, daytime bladder problems, bedwetting and behavioural issues such as fear of using the toilet.

We also offer tailored training packages to meet the specific needs of teams of professionals who support children with continence issues. Find out about our bespoke training here.
