Dr Paula Drummond MBChB MRCP(UK) DCH is a consultant Paediatrician at the Great North Children’s Hospital (GNCH) Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Dr Drummond graduated from Glasgow Medical School and spent a few years in Queensland, Australia, where she started her training in Paediatrics. She completed her training in the North East of England and was appointed as a consultant in 2002. Dr Drummond was the first consultant appointed in the trust as both a Community Paediatrician and as an acute General Paediatrician within the hospital.

Dr Drummond has an interest in children's continence and sees children with constipation in her hospital clinic. She works closely with the Paediatric gastroenterology and urology tertiary teams in managing complex continence problems.

Dr Drummond set up the Newcastle Enuresis Service with Newcastle’s Children’s Community Nursing Team in 2010. This service was initially established because of the need for children with nocturnal enuresis to be seen in the community but has subsequently developed into a urinary continence service where children with any urinary continence concerns are seen.

She is a member of the ICCS (International Children's Continence Society) and has recently written the Paediatric Care Online (PCO) guidelines for the Management of Nocturnal Enuresis for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).
