Dr. Nikki Cotterill is an Associate Professor of Nursing in Continence Care and since 2003 has worked in the field of Continence research. She completed her PhD in 2009, developing a self-report symptom and quality of life questionnaire for individuals with faecal incontinence. Nikki is passionate about improving the experience for individuals with bladder and bowel symptoms and focusing on self-help and service development.

Nikki is currently conducting qualitative studies to explore continence care provision in the community (CONNECT), hospital (ECHO) and care home (VOICE) settings. These studies will provide valuable insights into how we can effectively drive improvements in continence care.

She is also the Director of the newly developed Bladder and Bowel CONfidence Health Integration Team (@babconHIT) taking a city-wide approach to improvements in continence care provision.
