New for 2021, we are delighted to be extending our award winning training to early years practitioners, teaching assistants and family support workers. We are offering one or two half-day online courses delivered by an expert continence consultant via Zoom webinar. Bookings are now being taken for our half day Supporting Children Toilet Training course with the option to upgrade and add on an additional half day session focusing on supporting children with additional needs and bedwetting.

Supporting Children's Toilet Training - Wednesday 14 April  

This half day course will cover all you need to know to promote healthy bowels and bladders in your setting and support families with potty training.  It looks at the problems that can arise during toilet training and gives best practice advice on how to manage or overcome common childhood continence problems such as constipation, day time wetting and behavioural issues such as fear of the toilet.

Course objectives:

  • Understand how bowels and bladders work and how to keep them functioning properly
  • Become more confident about supporting families with a structured approach to potty and toilet training
  • Identify and understand the early signs of continence problems and know where to go for help
  • Gain confidence in supporting children with additional needs with toileting
  • Identify how much a child should be drinking daily, what healthy poo looks like and how often children should be going to the toilet
  • Gain best practice tips to implement within your setting following the training.

Additional half day session focusing on supporting children with additional needs and strategies to combat bedwetting - Wednesday 21 April

Upgrade your booking to include a further half day session focusing on supporting children with additional needs with successful toileting and information on overcoming challenges such as bedwetting. 

Course objectives:

  • Understand why toilet training might be delayed for children with additional needs
  • Learn how to assess readiness and recognise how constipation/bladder problems can affect successful toileting
  • Gain insight into sensory issues and their impact upon children 
  • Get equipped with tried and tested strategies that can be adopted to assist successful toilet training
  • Understand the reasons why children wet the bed
  • Gain an understanding of healthy bladder management including environmental and social considerations
  • Learn about the management of bedwetting, including in depth discussion on the variety of recommended treatment options

The cost of the half day Supporting Children's Toilet Training course (14 April) is £45 per person. 

To upgrade to include an additional half day session focusing on Supporting Children with Additional Needs and Bedwetting (14 April and 21 April) the cost is £90 per person.

Cancellation & transfer policy

If written notification is received 30 days before the course, we will issue a refund. We regret that no refunds can be made on bookings cancelled less than 30 days before the course. A colleague may attend in your place rather than forfeit the full course fee.

ERIC reserves the right to cancel the course. In the unlikely event of cancellation by ERIC, course fees paid will be refunded in full.
