The course is split into two parts. The first session is a reminder of healthy bladder and bowel management, focussing on the impact constipation and daytime bladder problems have on the child’s ability to achieve continence. An opportunity to test your knowledge and to get up to date on the latest treatments.

You can then choose EITHER Nocturnal Enuresis OR Toilet Training including Children with Additional Needs.

The half day session on Nocturnal Enuresis uses the three systems approach to explore the reasons why children wet at night, with a focus on a child-orientated, evidence-based approach to treatment. The tools on the ERIC website will structure our journey through assessment and diagnosis to identifying and implementing optimal treatment.

The half day session on Children with Additional Needs looks at the normal acquisition of bowel and bladder control, and the obstacles that may arise. Using the tools available on the ERIC website, we will explore the importance of assessment of bladder and bowel health and of readiness for toilet training, and how to apply what we learn to design individual toileting programmes.
